Aspen Ridge was formed in 2005.  Mike Brown on banjo and Fred Thull on guitar were doing “living room” jams for years.  One Sunday afternoon in late 2005 they made the decision to bring the music they loved to play to the public.  Karl Tobler joined the two as the band’s mandolin player.  Silvia Thull, Fred’s wife, committed herself to their effort and joined the group by playing bass and providing harmony vocals.

Aspen Ridge was born.  Within weeks they were performing on weekends at various Border’s Bookstores throughout the Las Vegas area.

Through the efforts of Karl Tobler they were asked to perform at “First Night” on New Years Eve in Boulder City, Nevada.  With this performance, their popularity began and they have returned to Boulder City on several occasions to perform at various events.

Over the past four years they have performed at multiple venues and are becoming a popular and requested favorite at many local festivals throughout both the Las Vegas and Southern Utah area.  Some of these event include the Enterprise, Utah Corn Festival, the Pahrump Acoustic Fest, and various events in the Boulder City, Nevada and St. George, Utah areas.

While their music consists primarily of bluegrass and folk, they do play a variety of other music as well.  They perform traditional bluegrass favorites and have produced some original material of their own.

Aspen Ridge has produced their first CD that includes both the traditional music as well as their own compositions.  Come by one of our shows for a signed copy.
